Spring Open House and Arbor Day Celebration - May 2, 1p-3p
This event welcomes the community to the Garden to rejoice spring's arrival with activities that involve trees and garden plantings. This year we will encourage participants to help us plant the Orchard, a new Discovery Garden, engage in a garden-wide scavenger hunt, and make a plastic bottle bird feeder. This event is free, donations are appreciated.
Hatchday Celebration - July 31, 3p-7:30p
The Hatchday Celebration is a big, fun, birthday party for Gaia the Turtle -- the Ithaca Children's Garden signature feature. Gaia's construction was completed in July 2005 so we mark her "hatchday" each July with hands-on activities, visits from the Wetlands Wizard, performances, a parade, and of course, hatchday cake (yum!). This year is Gaia's 5th birthday and we plan to make it extra special this year! 3-5pm is free, 5-7:30pm is $10 per family for special music ICG benefit show.
Scarecrow Jubilee & Pumpkin Jam - October 16, time TBA
Celebrate scarecrows, pumpkins, and everything autumn at the Garden. The afternoon promises great hands-on activities, yummy food, toe-tapping tunes, and of course, scarecrow making. Big, small, serious, or silly we have all the supplies you need. As the evening approaches, we begin Pumpkin Jam which features carved pumpkin art (aka jack-o'-lantern) gallery, live music, food, and fun. This event is free. Donations appreciated. Pumpkins for sale for $1-$5 (or bring your own).
