Of all the ways to learn, we favor curiosity-provoking, child-led, sensory-rich, affirming, even empowering. Much learning happens among visitors spontaneously in the Garden without staff present. However, this section showcases how you and the children in your life can get connected to nature and Ithaca Children’s Garden through programs.

Why do you love & support The Garden?
“I originally became involved while at Cornell I thought, I wanted to get outside and help with gardening and continued to stay connected. My son is 5 in November and he loves the garden, I just feel like I didn’t have anything like this as a child, it’s amazing to be able to provide that opportunity for my son and many other children. I think it’s really important to get children interested in gardening and the environment. For kids it’s so inherently interesting that if you catch them at this young age we can create something that they will continue to carry with them.”
