Mid-Day Mindfulness Walks

You don’t need to walk far or go to a park or wild space to take a moment to be mindful and present with nature.

Start by walking really s…l…o…w.

Think about the way the feet feel on the ground and the way the sun or wind or rain feels on your face.

Close your eyes and listen to what you can hear: Birds? An animal rustling leaves? The wind?

Take a deep breath and see what the air smells like today. Maybe even open your mouth wide – making a silly face! – to see if you can taste the crispness of the air.

Finally, open your eyes and try to spot 5 different things that capture your attention. Are all 5 things different colors? Is something sparkling in the sun? Is a bird passing by overhead?
